Grayscale’s first spot Zcash ETF (ZCSH) has launched. After ZEC briefly surged to an eight-year high, it pulled back by 8%. Short-term sell pressure has been released, but once the institutional gateway opens, it won’t close—funds will flow in batches rather than all at once.

With a current market cap of about $13.6 billion, roughly 1% of Bitcoin’s, the small base suggests greater upside elasticity. In the AI era, data privacy needs are shifting from a fringe topic to a hard, non-negotiable expense, and the long-term value of on-chain stealth transactions is being repriced by the market.

In the short term, watch the net subscription pace of the ETF and the validity of support levels. Over the long run, look to see whether the privacy narrative can move from concept trading to real-world adoption.
