Why is the market paying attention to the matter of $SOL right now?

It’s not that the story is new—what’s different is that someone has finally turned attention into real money. Bitwise’s Solana ETF hasn’t even been around for a year, yet its AUM has already surpassed $1 billion. Once numbers like that show up, a lot of people who were still on the fence will take a serious look.

I’m generally bullish on this signal.

First, ETFs are most afraid of there being no buyers. Reaching $1 billion means over-the-counter capital is willing to put money down, not just shout that they’re optimistic. Recently, the friends I know who trade U.S. stocks have been talking about $SOL more often—this isn’t just a small circle indulging itself.

Second, $BTC looks more like an emotional punching bag right now. The price is 77736, and it’s still down 3.15% over the past 24 hours. The swing between highs and lows has been pretty violent, but contract trading volume has surged to 11 times that of spot, and the funding rate is still positive. The market is still busy fighting among itself—of course, money will go looking for a new exit that isn’t as crowded.

Third, the market loves chasing things that can be “fit into boxes” of traditional capital. If you have a product first, then scale, then discussion volume—once this path gets going smoothly, attention will only become stickier.

The bears aren’t completely unreasonable either. Even if an ETF has scale, it doesn’t necessarily mean the coin price will immediately give you a good look.

But why is everyone fixated on it now? Isn’t it because old money is finally stepping in—so much so that even the most skilled at pretending to be steady are willing to touch it? Isn’t that enough to explain the situation?
