Beth Hammack, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, said on Friday that the period of extremely low interest rates between 2008 and 2020 may have been an unnatural exception, not the current economic environment.
Speaking on Bloomberg Television, Hammack addressed concerns about borrowing costs, saying: "I think when we go back and review the history, we’ll find that the stretch from 2008 to 2020 is the abnormal exceptional part, not the stage we’re living through today."
