Micron $MU short position floating profit 99%, still needs to fall
Micron is now 917.93, after crashing from the 984.32 peak. Our short position has already floating profit of 99%, and the direction is completely correct. A prudent approach: hold the short position, move the stop-loss downward to protect profits, and look for targets at 900–880.
Why keep expecting a downside? First, at 984 there was a huge-volume long bearish candle and a drop of 76 points in one candlestick, with volume expanding to 250k+, more than 10 times the 5-day average volume. This is a signal of the main force distributing, not a normal pullback. Second, from 984 to 907 is a decline of 7.8%, which confirms the downtrend; a weak rebound is an opportunity to add to the short. Third, volume shrank from the crash peak of 250k to 14.4k, showing that the bulls have little ability to resist. A low-volume, weak rebound is a healthy downtrend for shorts.
Action: continue holding the short position. Move the stop-loss down to 935 to protect profits. First target 900, second target 880–860. If the price rebounds to 925–930, you can add to the short; set the stop-loss at 940, and the target will also be 900. 900 is the key support—once it breaks, more downside room opens. Hold the short and don’t get off the trade too easily.
