Waller makes his debut tonight; $BTC reduces exposure and watches—don’t gamble on direction

Tonight at 22:00, Fed Chair Waller will deliver his first speech at Jackson Hole. BTC is currently ranging between 79,000 and 81,000. A steady approach: reduce positions and observe before the speech—don’t go heavy betting on direction.

Why be cautious? First, in July Waller said this speech is a “blank page,” providing almost no forward guidance; any stance could turn out beyond expectations, and volatility will be high. Second, there are major disagreements within the FOMC: nine members expect rate hikes versus nine who expect to maintain or cut rates. The market is pricing about a 1/3 probability of a rate hike in September, so the direction is unclear. Third, BTC has risen from 64,000 to 81,000—up 26%. With substantial profit, it’s easy for profit-taking to trigger before and after the speech.

Action: Reduce your current position to below 50%, keep leverage below 5x, and set proper stop-losses. If the dovish tone pushes price up above 81,000, don’t chase—wait for a pullback to around 80,000 and stabilize before entering again, targeting 83,000. If the hawkish tone drops BTC to 76,000, take a light-position long entry, stop loss at 75,000, and target 78,000–79,000. Don’t go heavy before the speech. You can’t make infinite money, but you can certainly lose it all.
