Have you checked and updated the $ETH app on your cold wallet Ledger yet?
OneKey Lab has just announced that it successfully reproduced a transaction-replacement vulnerability affecting older versions of the Ethereum app for Ledger. This flaw allows an attacker to manipulate the displayed data, tricking users into approving the wrong address.
Ledger has patched the issue in version 1.22.2; the private keys remain safe, and no damage has been reported. However, while the price of $ETH VND is fluctuating around the 2,497.43 USD mark (-1.61% in 24h at the time of writing), a lapse during cold-wallet operations could still end up costing you dearly.
My take: hardware wallets only work well when we keep updating them. Before sending commands or transferring funds, make sure you carefully verify every piece of information shown on the device screen.
