In July this year, during WebX 2026, #IOST participated in two important official side events, engaging in in-depth exchanges with partners from enterprises, financial institutions, and the Web3 ecosystem. This article reviews the key highlights of the events and IOST’s ongoing expansion in the Japanese market.

Blockchain NEXUS#2: Focusing on enterprise-grade adoption
On the first day of WebX, IOST sponsored Blockchain NEXUS#2, hosted by NTT DOCOMO GLOBAL. NTT DOCOMO GLOBAL is a leader in enterprise blockchain application solutions. The event brought together active Web3 projects in Japan, as well as multiple corporate organizations such as financial service companies, creating a high-quality forum for discussions on how blockchain can be integrated with the real world.
IOST Co-CEO Blake took the stage to deliver a speech, providing deep insight into Japan’s strategic position in Asia’s blockchain landscape and the specific path IOST is taking toward enterprise-level adoption. Blake noted that Japan has a mature regulatory environment, an active developer community, and financial institutions that highly recognize the value of blockchain—making it an irreplaceable part of IOST’s global expansion strategy.

Institutional Night: Dialoguing with the institutional ecosystem
The next day of WebX, IOST once again sponsored an official off-site event hosted by OKJ—Institutional Night. The event was held at a 180-meter high-altitude venue next to Tokyo Tower, a Tokyo landmark. Financial institutions, licensed crypto asset exchanges, financial security organizations, and staking infrastructure service providers gathered together, and under the dazzling night view of Tokyo Tower, engaged in in-depth exchanges centered on the institutional ecosystem.
Blake shared on site: : IOST has been active in the Japanese market for 8 years, and since IOST went live on trading platforms such as OKJ, it has been 6 years. It is precisely this long-term and solid localization that gives IOST unique advantages within Japan’s institutional ecosystem.

Crypto assets move into the (Financial Instruments and Exchange Act) era
As Japan continues to bring crypto assets under the (Financial Instruments and Exchange Act) (FIEA) framework, crypto assets are gradually evolving into more mature investment infrastructure. Looking back at WebX 2026, these two events demonstrated that they serve both as platforms for industry exchange and as a snapshot of the trend toward the convergence of traditional finance and the crypto ecosystem.
In the future, IOST will continue to deeply cultivate the Japanese market, strengthen collaboration with leading institutions and regulators, and effectively drive blockchain technology from ideas to large-scale deployment.
