There is an old saying in the crypto world: Don't buy the coins that Sun Ge promotes, but you must listen to what Sun Ge says.
Recently, I finished listening to all of Sun Yuchen's 2016 podcasts (The Road to Financial Freedom Revolution) using fragments while driving, and I have to admit: Sun Ge was 26 years old back then, and many of his views still seem remarkably accurate today, even prophetic. Listening to it in 2026, I still benefit immensely.
Now, let me condense the core views of Sun Ge's more than a hundred podcasts for you:
1. Young people born in the 90s: Don't buy cars, don't buy houses, don't get married (the three no's policy)
It's really impressive that he dared to say this during the real estate boom in 2016. Sun Ge believes these are 'negative assets' that will mortgage your possibilities for the next 30 years.
2. Buying a car is pure consumption; it's better to take a taxi.
Now that ride-hailing apps are so convenient, the cost of maintaining a car for a year is enough to cover tens of thousands of kilometers. Sun Guo once charged 80,000 on Yidao to send 100,000 + two TVs + various coupons, which was basically never used up... This operation still looks bold now.
3. Except for core areas in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, 90% of other houses are 'paper wealth traps' or 'debt traps'.
Spending all savings + 30 years of mortgage = personally destroying your future leverage. In the internet + sharing era, you can enjoy houses without 'owning' them. It's the same principle as taking a taxi.
4. Marriage = finding a life partner, be cautious.
The concept of business partners can be dissolved if there are disagreements, but the cost of breaking up with a life partner is severe (those who understand the cost of divorce know it well). Most people lack the ability to be good partners before the age of 30.
5. We have been brainwashed by traditional programs: graduate → buy a house → buy a car → get married → have children → provide better education for children → endless cycle
The vast majority of people work hard yet remain poor for their entire lives because they are running 'other people's life programs.' Like the people in (The Matrix), they have never woken up. Awakening is the first step.
6. The true definition of financial freedom: not needing to compromise on time, emotions, attention, or dignity for money.
It’s not about lying flat and enjoying life, but about spiritual independence + not degrading one’s values.
7. If your family of origin is consuming you, you need to establish boundaries.
"I gave you life and raised you, so I control you" is not love; it is control. Equality and independence are the healthy modes.
8. The dividend of the times is always hidden when 'most people do not have high hopes'.
Sun Guo was optimistic about: Tencent, Bitcoin, Tesla, LeEco, Vipshop; he also recommended shorting Baidu (except for LeEco's failure, the others basically succeeded, but it is understandable that Sun Guo and Jia Yueting have mutual appreciation). The best opportunities arise when others have not yet seen or dared to trust them.
9. Investing in oneself yields the highest returns; do not waste time on low compound interest matters before the age of 30.
The greatest assets of young people: time + energy + low trial-and-error costs. The fastest path to earning the first 1 million: go all in on high-growth tracks, rather than stubbornly saving money/buying houses.
10. Easter egg: In the last episode, Brother Sun announced he would do a blockchain project called TRON (the Chinese name was not yet decided), and he was recruiting...
The results are known to everyone; this wave of wealth codes was directly revealed.
