💥 CZ says Bitcoin could overtake gold in the next bull run
Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said Bitcoin could surpass gold in market value as soon as the next bull run. Speaking at Bitcoin Asia 2026 in Hong Kong, CZ noted that gold’s market capitalization is still roughly 10 times larger than Bitcoin’s, but argued that the gap could narrow significantly as adoption grows.
CZ said the main obstacle is not technology but institutional adoption. Major governments already have established systems for valuing, storing and trading gold, so shifting part of their reserves toward Bitcoin would likely take years. He nevertheless expects Bitcoin to become increasingly important as a reserve asset.
CZ also said Bitcoin reaching $1 million is achievable, although he emphasized that Bitcoin’s long-term success should be measured more by real-world utility, such as large-scale payments and inclusion in pension fund reserves, than by price alone.
