【Institutional whales are secretly accumulating, but this time they’re not here to pump the market, right?】

Last night I checked some on-chain data and found something interesting: the share of XRP held by large holders has been quietly trending upward. In the past, when I saw a signal like that, my first reaction was, “They’re about to pump it—quick, get in.”

But this time, I’d advise you not to rush.

Because based on another piece of news, things may not be that simple—Ripple Prime has just announced its entry into the U.S. stock derivatives market, launching the Delta One service, allowing institutional clients to conduct total return swaps across U.S. stocks, indices, and crypto assets.

So what does that mean?

It’s like Ripple upgrading from “helping people send money” to “helping people hedge with derivatives.” Previously, you used XRP because cross-border transfers are fast and cheap. Now it wants you to use it for more complex financial operations.

Does this business logic make sense?

Honestly, it does. Institutional money doesn’t come in just to trade coins—it’s looking for new profit tools. And what the crypto market is lacking right now is precisely this kind of “institution-friendly” product.

But the problem is—Ripple hasn’t fully escaped the shadow of regulation yet. Even though the SEC case has seen some progress, compliance hurdles in the U.S. have never been low. It’s like you just got your driver’s license and you’re immediately about to drive an F1—you might be able to, but whether you have the skills isn’t guaranteed—the road really is wild.

So this round of whale accumulation may not be a bet on “XRP is about to skyrocket,” but rather a bet that “Ripple’s institutional business can really get running.”

These two things are fundamentally different. The first is emotion; the second is a business.

If you want to follow, you need to think clearly about what you’re actually betting on. Are you betting on a rebound in sentiment, or betting that this company can truly build its institutional operations?

I’m in a watch-and-see mode right now—I haven’t moved. It’s not that I’m bearish; I just haven’t seen clear enough signals yet.

What about you? How do you see this move—do you want to follow the institutions, or do you think Ripple’s step is too big?
