【BNB is waiting for an “explanation”】
BTC drops below 79,000, most major coins are all drifting green, and only BNB is still holding up—this is kind of interesting.
BNB’s independent price action isn’t the first time. Back when FTX collapsed in 2022, BTC fell 20% in a single day, yet BNB only dropped by less than 10%. At the time, many people asked why. I didn’t fully figure it out, but I remembered this: it has its own rhythm.
Right now, it’s been ranging in the 687 to 729 zone for almost a week. Upward, there’s prior resistance overhead. Downward, that 687 support is something it just won’t break. Trading volume is getting lower and lower—so low that it seems almost no one is willing to move.
This isn’t a “good” thing to call “building up momentum.” I’m just saying: both bulls and bears are holding their breath, and nobody wants to make the first move.
Someone might bring up “BNB has retraced 48% from the highs,” saying this is a value area. I don’t deny that logic, but the problem is—“value” in crypto has never been the standard for a bottom. Back in 2017, I saw too many coins that were “already oversold,” only to keep falling until they went to zero.
What’s different about BNB is that it’s backed by Binance. As long as this platform is still alive, BNB won’t fall to the point of having no buyers. But can this reasoning be used to derive “it should go up”? You can’t. It only shows that BNB’s lower limit is higher than most altcoins, while nobody can say anything definite about its upper limit.
At this level, I lean toward watching, but I don’t lean toward acting. If 687 breaks, I might reassess my judgment; if 729 can hold firm, I won’t be annoyed just because I missed the move.
So what does all this mean in practical terms? Simply put: right now BNB’s price action has little to do with fundamentals, and much more to do with sentiment and capital flows. I haven’t seen Binance’s own business data, but the market sentiment index is already 73—that’s in the greed zone. In a situation like this, whether the price can keep propping up isn’t about “how much I think it’s worth,” but about “whether there are still people willing to buy.”
My take: neutral in the short term, leaning toward staying on the sidelines. I’ll wait for trading volume to expand and for the direction to become clear. I’m not forecasting whether it goes up or down.
What’s your mindset right now? If you hold BNB, what are you doing—still holding or did you cut your position? If you don’t have any, do you dare to enter this wave?
