GM☕️ The $fone I bought yesterday has officially taken off; with the remaining allocation, I’ll hold it—and call this bag properly today. When I bought it yesterday, I genuinely loved the meme at first sight.
The name “apeonfone” is honestly pretty damn artistic 🤣:
1. “ape” literally means “ape,” and in crypto it’s “ape in”—don’t look at fundamentals, just rush in. The picture shows an ape, and the buyers are apes too.
2. “fone” is a deliberate misspelling of “phone,” paired with the same set of CT slang as “hodl” and “wif.” And “on fone” has long been used in the circle to mean “I’m operating on my phone; I’m too lazy to fix the typo.” Even the spelling itself is acting out the story it’s trying to tell.
3. You can use the ticker to form sentences:
all you need to make it is ape on your $fone
“Want to turn your life around? Just go all-in on your phone,” or also, “Want to turn things around? Just rush $fone.”
The naming structure is also clearly copying dogwifhat: animal + preposition + object, all lowercase and run together. Last round was dog wif hat; this round is ape on fone.
What I’m bullish on is that it looks a lot like Crypto’s self-portrait this cycle: scrolling X, checking group chats, staring at screenshots, and ordering on your phone. You get it at a glance, you can repeat it after reading once—this kind of meme doesn’t even need a manual 😂
