OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and other AI giants have jointly signed a public letter, urging the government to rein in AI cyberattacks, saying there isn’t much time left to protect critical infrastructure.

This round is basically panic among AI insiders. They talk about regulation, but in reality they’re afraid of being held responsible if something really goes wrong. For the crypto community, the AI security narrative is about to be hyped again—especially for defensive projects that combine AI and Web3, which could be flipped by investors.

That said, this kind of “appeal” card has been played too many times, and its staying power is questionable. Just treat it as a short-term hotspot. Whether it actually gets implemented will depend on whether the government responds.
