Galaxy Research said the coins were received on May 28, 2012, when Bitcoin was trading near $5.
The value of the holdings back then was about $200 at the time of receipt. After fourteen years, the value of the coins themselves is now around $3.14 million.
The recipient was identified as Boerse Stuttgart Digital, while the sender remains unidentified.
