The UK Maritime Trade Operations organization reported on Thursday that an oil tanker was struck by a projectile of unknown origin in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire on board.
The organization said local authorities informed it that the vessel was hit in the strait located between Oman and Iran on Tuesday, adding that the ship’s crew is fine and no environmental damage has been observed so far.
