$BTC trading thesis analysis 8/27
Today’s Asia-session market was range-bound before suddenly surging. Binance spot CVD has been trending downward and sell pressure is evident, yet price still keeps breaking above prior highs. Volume/turnover is not large, and the move has not yet exhausted. Ultimately, an abnormal sell wall of 900+ BTC around 80,800 on another exchange overwhelmed the market and capped it below 81k. This size of order is extremely rare on other exchanges.
From the order book, spot sell pressure is concentrated above 81k, with a large order wave at 82k. In the daytime, the futures market borrowed short-side liquidity to break through most sell orders; however, the biggest remaining pressure is still around 82k. The color-band model shows resistance forming again above near 80k.
In terms of strategy, you can continue to watch this massive order: if price approaches and the order is still there, you can scalp a short position, with a stop-loss triggered once this order is consumed. For longs to continue moving up, price needs to hold above 80k; today’s attempt to push higher failed again. The U.S. session may play out a battle around 80k.
As for liquidity/flows, other exchanges have had a positive premium throughout the day. The ETF is expected to continue net inflows tonight. The key is whether it can absorb and eat through this 900+ sell order. Structurally, below/above levels at 78.3k–78.8k contain two POCs from yesterday and today, making a pullback a relatively better low-long opportunity. The high-short setup looks to be below the 80,800 massive order.
