150 tons of gold, over 100,000 Bitcoins—Tether has laid its reserves right on the table.

KPMG US has conducted a comprehensive financial audit for Tether International, the entity that issues USDT, covering up to December 31, 2025.

Going forward, there will be a comprehensive audit once every year, while quarterly assurance reports continue to be issued.

Ardoino said the company’s balance sheet is very straightforward, and also noted that changes in the U.S. government’s stance have pushed the audit into the spotlight.

The company is also preparing to allocate a budget to have AI review Bitcoin code and wallet security.
