#KospiClosesAtRecordHigh
The KOSPI recovers 6,900 points in a three-day rebound, while Kioxia rises 5% and SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics gain ground.
During the Asian trading session on August 27, markets in Japan and South Korea showed diverging trends. South Korea’s KOSPI index rose 1.53% to 6,912.37 points, driven by a strong late-afternoon rebound in major semiconductor companies such as SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 index fell 0.20% to 66,131.76 points, pressured by profit-taking and a stronger yen stemming from higher expectations for interest-rate hikes by the Bank of Japan, which weighed on key exporting companies, despite strong gains in some selected technology stocks such as Kioxia.
