[On-chain signals like this mean someone is betting on a big chess game]

Yesterday, the UNI chain saw a signal. Anyone who knows the ropes could tell it wasn’t simple—trading volume surged, exceeding 5% of market cap, with clear signs of large money entering. In the past 24 hours, it’s up 3.8%; 7 days, 23%; 30 days, 20%. Buy orders kept flowing in.

This isn’t retail chasing. Retail usually does it like this: when it rises, they don’t dare jump in; they wait for a pullback. Then once they enter, they catch the knife and start blaming everything. UNI’s move is different—volume and price are moving in sync very cleanly, which suggests planned capital, not panic.

I’ve seen this kind of chart before in 2017. It wasn’t the same coin, but it was the same playbook: abnormal volume amplification, the price hasn’t really launched yet, while sentiment is still hovering on the edge of greed. People who enter at this time aren’t here to trade short-term—they’re here to bet on the hidden “ace card” you can’t see.

Today, the FNG index is 71, meaning the market overall is greedy. But UNI is down 90% from its all-time high, with its valuation sitting on the floor. What are institutions betting on right now? They’re betting that DeFi will become the main theme of the next cycle—and that a blue-chip like UNI will benefit first.

A few days ago, the Dallas Fed released a report saying that programmable, tokenized deposits could change banks’ funding costs. What does that mean? It means the traditional financial system is already seriously studying on-chain assets.

Applying it to UNI is simple business logic: the core value of DeFi protocols is making the flow of capital more efficient. And UNI is Uniswap’s governance token—Uniswap is the DEX with the largest trading volume. The bigger the capital flow volume, the more value the protocol can capture.

But that doesn’t mean you can blindly rush in. In 2021, I trusted this logic and went all-in—then once the bear market came, everything got wiped back to square one. Now when I look at it, I’m watching like an audience—someone is positioning themselves. I’ll just wait and see for confirmation before I do anything.

You ask me if my hands are itchy? They really are. But the muscle memory from being cut in 2017 tells me to wait until we’re sure the board is set and the move is right. Acting then is safer than rushing in right now.

So what mindset do you all have? For this UNI move, do you dare to follow it?
