Move stop-loss first to activate
I placed a trailing stop-loss on the long position for $BTC . The price has not yet risen to the activation price, but it turned around and dropped. This order may not trigger at all.
All the following are hypothetical prices: when placing the order, the latest price is 79,000 USDT. The activation price for the sell trailing stop-loss is 80,000, the pullback rate is 1%, and the trigger source is the latest price. If it first rises to 81,000 and then pulls back, the trigger line is 81,000 × 99% = 80,190. With the high point unchanged, this line will not fall along with it. If it never reaches 80,000 and instead keeps dropping toward 78,000, the activation condition has not been met.
Before setting, double-check the position-closing direction, the activation price, the pullback rate, and the trigger source. After submitting, verify that the order was accepted successfully, and separately confirm the stop-loss arrangement before activation. This 1% tracking refers to the pullback from the high point, not that the account will lose at most 1%.
After activation, it executes at market price. With high volatility, slippage, and liquidity, execution may still be affected. 80,190 is only the trigger line in this example and cannot guarantee the trade will fill at that price. The pullback rate also cannot replace position and leverage control.
Before the trailing stop-loss activates, do you have any other fixed stop-loss?
