🇺🇸 The U.S. Government Moves Bitcoin Seized by Alameda
The U.S. government has transferred some Bitcoin it seized from Binance / Binance.US accounts related to Alameda Research from one wallet to another wallet address about three years ago. This movement was detected by Arkham, an on-chain analytics firm.
With the news coming out, the crypto community is watching and asking, “Is this preparing to sell more Bitcoin?” In previous months, there were also instances where FTX/Alameda assets held by wallets associated with the U.S. government were moved.
However, it can’t yet be said that these Bitcoin moves mean they are being sold. According to Arkham’s data, this transfer has not been identified as a sale, and it has not been confirmed why the funds were moved or how much was transferred.
