I refreshed the feed this morning and saw that TypeScript has become number one on GitHub usage. They say an AI coding tool has been pushing it hard behind the scenes. My first reaction was to laugh—back when I pushed TS in the team, people called it “overengineering.” Now that AI-generated code comes with types by default, nobody complains anymore.

Tools are better suited to be agents of change than people, because they don’t have any feelings to spare. If you find it troublesome, it simply hands you runnable .ts files. After you run them a few times, you get used to it. This is probably the programmer version of “turns out it’s actually great.”
