🚨HOT: VIETNAM HAS ABOUT 17 MILLION PEOPLE WHO OWN CRYPTO ASSETS – CRIMINALS ARE ALSO TURNING INTO “SHAPESHIFTERS”! 😹
According to Chainalysis data, as relayed by the Ministry of Public Security, Vietnam currently has about 17 million people who own crypto assets.
⚠️ Four prominent tricks warned by the Ministry of Public Security:
1️⃣ Fake investment projects Create tokens, set up websites/apps, promote high profits, and even use KOLs/celebrities’ images to build trust. Once enough money is raised, they can bring down the system, dump the token, or withdraw the assets.
2️⃣ Price-manipulating bots Use automated accounts to continuously place buy–sell orders to create false supply and liquidity, thereby controlling the price and causing investors to suffer losses.
3️⃣ Malware and malicious QR codes Trick users into scanning QR codes or accessing links to take over control of accounts/wallets. The Ministry of Public Security cited a case involving 4 suspects in Bac Ninh being prosecuted related to unauthorized access to users’ Binance accounts.
4️⃣ Fake exchanges & financial organizations Impersonate exchanges, support staff, or form investment groups to lure users into providing passwords, OTPs, 2FA codes, private keys, or wallet recovery phrases.
Decree 284/2026/NĐ-CP issued by the Government on 16/7/2026 regulates administrative penalties for violations involving crypto assets and the crypto asset market, and will take effect from 1/9/2026.
Notably, the draft amendments to the Criminal Code are currently under consultation in the National Assembly, proposing the highest fine for individuals of up to 10 billion VND or 3–7 years in prison; legal entities may be fined up to 20 billion VND, and could even face permanent suspension of operations.
