If you see a token unlock, don’t automatically assume it means sell pressure.
That’s one of the simplest — and often most misleading — ways to read tokenomics.
New supply entering the market is not inherently bearish.
The real question is whether demand is strong enough to absorb it.
HUMA is a good example right now. A scheduled unlock is taking place today, with different data sources reporting the release at roughly $9–10M worth of HUMA.
At the same time, Huma says its network has surpassed $17B in total transaction volume, is now growing by more than $1B per month, and has recorded zero credit defaults to date.
That’s where the analysis gets interesting.
The unlock tells us about supply.
Volume tells us about activity.
Real usage tells us about the quality of demand.
You need all three before forming a serious view of a token.
So perhaps the wrong question is:
“How many tokens are being unlocked?”
The better question is:
“Can the market absorb the new supply?”
Because sometimes millions of new tokens enter circulation and the market barely reacts.
Other times, a relatively small amount of selling is enough to break the entire structure.
The problem isn’t always the size of the supply.
It’s how fragile the balance between supply and demand really is.
