Before options expiry, don’t chase—pushing needles is BTC’s traditional show

$BTC The current price is about $78,560, down 0.5% over 24H, but up more than 21% over the past 7 days. Consolidating at high levels isn’t necessarily weak. The biggest variable right now is the expiry of roughly $6.4 billion worth of BTC options. As settlement approaches, it’s easy to see “order-book pinning + violent needle-like spikes,” especially after the prior squeeze, when profit-taking positions have also been accumulating. Last week, ETFs saw net inflows of about $1.92B, and institutional buying remains strong.
For the short term, I’m watching $77K support and $80K–$81K resistance: if price holds the range and breaks out above $81K on increased volume, look for $85K. If it breaks below $77K, watch for $73K–$75K.
