Multiple media outlets have confirmed that the Trump administration, on a global scale, has initiated a pause in the appointment scheduling for immigration visa applications. All U.S. embassies have been instructed to focus on training consular officers to determine whether applicants should be subject to stricter assessment, which may become a public financial burden for the U.S.

Based on the widespread feedback over the past few days, some applicants who already had in-person immigration visa interviews scheduled have been sent cancellation notices by the embassies.
