$TAC is in trouble! TAC Protocol recently suffered a major security incident due to a Cosmos EVM precompile vulnerability, with about 3 billion TAC stolen and block production already suspended.

This attack stemmed from multiple security flaws in a shared module, including an integer underflow issue in the staking precompile. Combined with delays in patch release, this ultimately allowed hackers to breach multiple chains.

After the incident, market confidence was severely hit. The price of TAC plunged more than 50% within 24 hours, currently quoted at about $0.00264, with 24-hour trading volume of $4.77 million and a market cap of about $12.69 million.

The security risks in cross-chain ecosystems have sounded the alarm again. Projects that rely on shared modules must pay close attention to code audits and vulnerability response speed, otherwise a single vulnerability could leave the project beyond recovery.
