45.79%! BMT really caught me off guard—when I was checking the charts this morning, I was even rubbing my eyes, thinking the data was lagging.

Honestly, today’s top gainers list is kind of interesting. It’s not one of those flat, boring broad rallies—it’s a volume-spike surge, while the funding rate is giving the exact opposite direction. Let’s start with BMT. In the last 24 hours, it had $201M USDT in volume, at 4.7x average volume. This kind of volume definitely isn’t something retail traders can pile up. The key levels are also laid out: support at 0.02104, resistance at 0.02782, and the current price is 0.022—right around the 54% mark of the range.

What’s interesting: BMT’s funding rate is -0.1138%, meaning shorts are overheated. What does that imply? Shorts are holding the line. If the price keeps pushing upward, these shorts become the fuel. For a short-term setup: you can watch for a long bias if it pulls back into the 0.021–0.022 zone. Set your stop below 0.0198. (If it breaks support and you see volume, your view is wrong—don’t hesitate, exit.) First target: 0.0255. That gives an RR of about 1:2.5. But note—since it dropped quite a bit from the high of 0.02782, chasing is not worth it. Waiting for the pullback is the smarter move.

Next, the lobster coin. I honestly didn’t expect this one—the name is kind of earthy, but the upside is fierce. Up 43.25%, and funding rate is 0.08%—longs are overheated, brothers. This data combo is a bit contradictory. The price is still around the 59% position of the range, but the funding rate already indicates crowded longs. If it keeps pushing up, I’d be cautious. At this kind of position, it’s easy for it to spike and then reverse.

For a bullish approach: wait for a pullback to 0.034–0.035, then look again. Stop loss at 0.0328, first target 0.042. RR is about 1:2. But if it breaks below 0.0328 and volume picks up, that’s a signal the top may be in for the short term—don’t hold bags. Also a reminder: when a coin is up 43%, the retracement can be just as fast. I’ve suffered from this before—I chased a coin last month and it dumped 15% within half an hour. Saying more is just tears.

BTR is more interesting. Current price is 0.0411, just one step away from the 24h high at 0.04159. It’s at about the 94% point of the range—this is the strongest among the three today, basically hugging the resistance level. But the funding rate is 0.0747%, and longs are overheated too. Bitlayer’s project does BitVM—okay concept-wise—but its traded volume at 10.89M is far smaller compared to the first two.

In this “lower volume, clinging to resistance” state, I tend to think it’s accumulation before a breakout—but it could also be a sign of failing to push higher. If you want to play it: wait for it to break above 0.0416 with an increase in volume. Stop loss 0.038, target 0.048, RR about 1:2. Remember: breakouts without volume are just fooling around.

Market-wise: BTC is ranging around 79K. The 7-day gain is 22.9%, and ETH is up 28.9%, but over the past 24 hours both are correcting—meaning the market is digesting the earlier rally. The Fear & Greed Index is 50, neutral and slightly cautious. At this spot, I don’t think it’s time to chase. Waiting for a pullback is safer than buying into the pump.

That said, honestly, today’s hot search list is also pretty interesting. DOG, PONS, CASHCAT—these MEMEs are popping up again, which suggests hot money is still roaming for opportunities. But STORJ is down 19.34% today, funding rate is -0.5341%, and shorts are overheated—another extreme. Don’t touch it. It looks scary for a reason.

My stance is very clear: today’s protagonists are BMT and the lobster, but neither is suitable to chase right now. Wait for the pullback to key support levels before considering a long bias. If BTR can break out with volume, that would be the real opportunity. Emotion-wise, with the 50 Fear & Greed Index giving a “neutral” signal, use a neutral-sized position—don’t go all-in. This opportunity is worth watching, but the timing matters more than the direction.

What do you think—does BMT’s short funding rate look like a trap or an opportunity? Drop a comment and let’s talk. I’ll be squatting and watching.
