Today has one more PUMP quote available, but “zero maker” doesn’t mean zero cost
What happened: Binance will officially open the PUMP/U spot market at 16:00 (Beijing time) on August 26, and enable a spot trading order algorithm. The promotion says that placing orders for PUMP/U will have zero trading fee for the maker side, with the duration “to be notified separately”; taker-side fills will still be charged at the standard fee rate. At 09:36, Binance’s public API shows $PUMP last price at 0.004588 USDT, down 4.16% over the past 24 hours, with a range of 0.004353–0.004991.
Who it affects: Those who already have PUMP or want to use U as the quoting asset. This is a newly added quote pair, not a relisting of PUMP, and it doesn’t automatically mean liquidity will improve.
What to pay attention to now: Placing limit orders can waive the maker fee, but it’s not guaranteed to fill. Market orders or taker fills still incur fees, and the spread and slippage won’t disappear. After 16:00, compare the order book depth and the converted price between PUMP/U and PUMP/USDT first, then decide which pair to use. What matters more to you when placing orders: fee waivers, or order book depth?
