Stability AI, the developer of the AI image generation model Stable Diffusion, has completed a $76 million Series B round, bringing its total funding to $232 million. According to ChainCatcher, investors in the round included Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group, EA, AMD Ventures, and Pacific Alliance Ventures.

The company said it has worked with Universal Music, EA, and Warner Music since last year to develop generative AI tools. CEO Prem Akkaraju said the financing supports its vision of using generative AI to empower creators. The new capital will be used to expand its creative product suite and professional services business.

Stability AI previously won most of a copyright case in the U.K., where Getty Images accused it of using copyrighted images to train its models. A similar lawsuit in the U.S. is still ongoing.
