According to Wallstreetcn, two environmental groups and one Native American tribe said in a lawsuit that the U.S. federal government approved the Arizona Copper Creek Project without consulting the local tribe and without fully assessing threats to nearby wildlife. The lawsuit said the U.S. Bureau of Land Management violated federal law by failing to consult the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on threats to the protected Mexican spotted owl and by not fully assessing harm to the yellow-billed cuckoo.
