Bitcoin is good for one main thing and it does it well: it’s digital money that’s scarce and nobody controls it. Its simplicity is its strength—no complications, no surprises.
Ethereum (2015) came with a different question: if we already have a decentralized network that executes rules without an intermediary—why limit it to transfers? Why not have it execute any contract?
And that’s how «smart contracts» came about: programs that run automatically on the network when their conditions are met, without a lawyer, no intermediary, and no company in the middle. For example: an agreement that transfers an amount automatically as soon as a shipment arrives, or an app that trades digital assets directly between people.😘#HKJulyGoldNetExportsToMainland56.193Tons $NVDAB
