SpaceX announced plans to create a massive new launch site costing $100 billion on the southern coast of the U.S. state of Louisiana. The announcement came today in the presence of Governor Jeff Landry and a number of state executives, representing the largest capital investment in Louisiana’s history.
The new facility will provide SpaceX with a third highly important hub, joining its sites in South Texas and Cape Canaveral, Florida, with the aim of expanding operations for its giant Starship vehicles.
