Breaking news: SpaceX has just announced that it will invest $100 billion in Louisiana to build a major Starship launch site. This will be the largest capital investment project in the state's history.
Located in Vermilion Parish, this new high-frequency launch facility will:
• Create more than 3,000 direct jobs, and indirectly create thousands more
• Support large-scale Starship launches
• Include propellant production and power-generation facilities
• Feature vehicle processing facilities, an airport, and deep-water shipping capabilities
SpaceX says the goal is for Starship to ultimately launch thousands of times per year, making rocket launches as commonplace as air travel.
This is another major step toward scaling up Starship and making humanity a multi-planet species.
