An insider revealed that Copper, the crypto custody giant that was once valued as high as $2.5 billion, is now facing a major “price drop” in its sale.

According to CoinDesk, there are currently potential buyers showing acquisition interest in Copper, but the offer is only around $200 million—far below the $500 million acquisition price Cantor Fitzgerald quoted a few months ago.

During the period of inflated valuations, Copper completed more than $300 million in funding, and it is now grappling with a series of challenges related to preferred stock, ultimately forcing it down the path of selling.

In a bear market, bubbles are squeezed— even top players in the sector can’t escape the fate of valuation pullbacks, and the crypto industry shakeout is still ongoing.
