The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has just launched a public consultation on two important proposed regulations related to crypto oversight—worth paying attention to:

One is a draft regulatory framework for establishing crypto exchange-traded funds (crypto ETFs) in Thailand. The other is a proposed set of principles to revise the qualification requirements for foreign digital-asset custodians employed by investment funds for digital assets, including both mutual funds and private funds.

The Thai SEC clearly stated that the core goals of this series of proposals are to: broaden investors’ range of investment options; enhance the service capabilities of business operators; promote the diversification of products in Thailand’s capital market; and establish unified, clear standards for offshore custody of digital assets for various related funds.

On a global scale, more and more countries and regions are beginning to pave the way for compliant crypto products by strengthening and完善ing regulatory frameworks. Thailand’s push to advance crypto ETF regulation once again reflects the continued growth in demand from traditional financial markets for crypto asset allocation, making the trend toward regulated and compliant development even clearer.
