Starting from September 1, it will be possible to transfer cryptocurrency abroad in Russia—this decision was made by the Bank of Russia.
Qualified and non-qualified investors will be able to buy cryptocurrencies and stablecoins (subject to the current requirements) and send these assets abroad: for example, to their overseas wallets or to non-residents—to pay for goods and services with them.
At the same time, paying with cryptocurrency inside Russia will still not be allowed: from September 1, such settlements will be considered an illegal currency transaction, and violators face a fine—up to 40% of the payment amount.
