Why shouldn’t you share or talk about making money in the crypto world?
There are two layers to consider. First, there are feng shui/mystical factors: if you say it out loud, it’s like leaking your “luck” and “energy,” and then you may not make money anymore. Others also won’t genuinely be happy for you; if they’re secretly cursing you, it can affect your luck as well.
Second, there are psychological factors. When you post your gains, it gives you an illusion that you are always right. The next time you open a position and get trapped, you may hesitate to cut losses, still thinking that you need to make money to prove your correctness. Then you become unwilling to admit mistakes—often leading to losses in the end.
So for these two reasons, I don’t recommend that you, once you’ve made money by trading, go around telling people everywhere, especially bragging to people in your everyday life. People won’t bless you; instead, they’ll think of ways to annoy or make you miserable.
In summary: when you feel like posting your gains, it’s often the time you should stop and take profit!
