I used to think RWA was only a story about putting assets on the blockchain, but the more I observe, the more I realize the issue runs deeper. It’s not that tokenization is the destination; it’s whether blockchain can reduce friction across an asset’s lifecycle.
The problem is not in creating tokens, but in eligibility, transfer rights, disclosure, and settlement. If these parts are fragmented across multiple systems, the blockchain only becomes an abstraction layer over the old process. Dusk Network drew my attention to native issuance and regulated workflows being built into the design, rather than merely wrapping assets in tokens.
What’s interesting isn’t that Dusk brings RWA on-chain, but the mental model that treats privacy, compliance, and settlement as pieces within the lifecycle. It sounds convincing, but it hasn’t proven adoption yet. The incentives of the issuer, the investor, and the venue still matter.
However, that’s only true when friction is reduced. Behavior doesn’t change automatically because the infrastructure is new. I’m still not sure RWA will be the biggest use case. I still have doubts and want to observe whether the value lies in the token or in the redesigned workflow.
