#BNB链Pasteur硬分叉明日启动

BNB Smart Chain Pasteur hard fork will be activated on the mainnet at 02:30 UTC on August 25. Node operators need to upgrade to version v1.7.7; regular users do not need to do anything. This upgrade includes three proposals: BEP‑682, BEP‑695, and BEP‑675. It focuses on strengthening the security of cross-chain bridges and validator governance, and optimizing block processing efficiency. Testnet TPS can reach up to 2324, and the official notice says the mainnet performance may not necessarily replicate the testnet results.

Key levels (BNB/USDT)

- Resistance: 720-725; strong resistance 742

- Short-term watershed support: 678-682; strong support 644-648

Support rationale

1. BEP‑682 fixes a vulnerability in the cross-chain bridge’s validation logic by rejecting repeated validator signatures, reducing the risk of forged-signature attacks on cross-chain bridges and addressing weaknesses in infrastructure security, which is positive for the development of RWA and cross-chain DeFi ecosystems.

2. BEP‑695 strengthens validator key rotation and the staking governance mechanism. After old keys complete rotation, administrator permissions are revoked, and slash penalties follow the node migration, improving the robustness of network governance.

3. BEP‑675 introduces a block builder model, greatly compressing the time validators spend computing, raising the network’s throughput ceiling, and aligning with business needs for AI agents’ high-frequency micro-trading and tokenized assets. In the long run, it may increase on-chain Gas consumption and is positive for BNB burn and deflation.

4. The market’s risk appetite is currently strong. With BTC breaking 81,000 and the additional optimism from Apple Pay/Google Pay launching on Binance and the CLARITY bill, the event brings supportive fundamental sentiment.

Downside risks

1. A hard fork carries potential risk of inconsistent node upgrades. If some nodes fail to update in time, there may be tail risks in the short term such as network instability and abnormal block production. High-performance testnet data does not mean the mainnet will immediately achieve comparable TPS.

2. This is an iteration of underlying infrastructure and will not directly trigger a short-term explosive surge in users and revenue. It is likely to see a “buy the expectation, sell the fact” type of pullback after the upgrade is implemented.

3. BNB is a high-beta major coin, and its price action is highly linked to BTC’s overall market. If BTC loses the 74800‑75200 watershed level, BNB’s pullback could be amplified.

4. A large share of BSC ecosystem earnings comes from Meme trading; the proportion of high-quality DeFi is relatively low, and upgrades cannot instantly change the ecosystem structure.

Outlook

BNB holds steady at 678‑682, maintaining a slightly bullish, range-bound pattern. A push toward 720‑725 faces resistance. If the 4-hour period effectively breaks below 678‑682, expect a pullback to the 644‑648 area.

Key to watch: after the hard fork goes live, mainnet running stability, actual TPS, on-chain Gas burn, and the BTC 74800‑75200 range as the key watershed.
