The recent high of XAU is made of paper—once it surges, it gets pushed back and nailed down to the lower edge of the range. No amount of massive turnover can buy even a single half bullish candle; the price spread is so tight there’s no room, and sell orders are right in your face as they unload. Every rebound is just catching a falling knife. The moving averages are all pressing down from overhead, and the four-hour focus is shifting lower. This market can’t even pretend to offer a safe-haven play.
