🚨BREAKING: VIETNAM OFFICIALLY PUTS CRYPTO INTO THE ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING REGULATORY FRAMEWORK!
👀The National Assembly has just passed an amended law, adding crypto-asset service providers to the group of entities required to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) obligations, effective from 01/12/2026.
🔎What does this mean for crypto folks?
✅Crypto-asset service providers will have to identify customers, control risks, and report suspicious transactions to the State Bank of Vietnam when there is a basis for suspicion.
✅The law adds 15 suspicious signs, including:
→ Splitting up transactions to avoid monitoring thresholds
→ Deposit → trade → withdraw repeatedly within a very short time
→ Converting across multiple types of crypto without a reasonable cause
→ Using identity-hiding tools or IP address masking
→ Large transactions in a short period but with no clear purpose.
✅In short, from the end of this year, crypto activities in Vietnam will be placed under a clearer AML layer of oversight.
👉This is also an important step in completing the legal framework for Vietnam’s crypto-asset market and meeting international recommendations on anti-money laundering.
