According to Wallstreetcn, New York City business owners on Monday sued Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a Democrat, seeking to block his plan to open a city-owned grocery store network. Mamdani aims to open one city-run grocery store in each of the five boroughs, with goods priced 30% below private grocery stores, and the head of the Multicultural Business Coalition said in a petition filed Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court that the move "threatens to further exclude immigrant and minority business owners from opportunities."
