Bitcoin Open Interest Is Cooling Down And That Might Matter

Something interesting is happening with Bitcoin right now.

Open interest has dropped to its lowest level in roughly two months.

At first glance, that might sound bearish. Less open interest can mean less leverage, less aggressive positioning, and fewer traders willing to chase the next move.
But I don’t think it’s that simple.

Markets can become healthier when excessive leverage gets washed out. When too many traders are positioned in the same direction, even a small move can trigger a chain reaction of liquidations.

Lower open interest can mean some of that pressure is finally leaving the market.
