Gold prices rose in spot trading by 0.9% to reach $4,643.63 per ounce by 9:44 a.m. Mecca time, recording their highest level since mid-May, supported by a weaker U.S. dollar and as investors awaited U.S. personal consumption expenditures data and a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at a “Jackson Hole” conference this week.
U.S. gold futures also climbed by 0.4% to $4,699.10 per ounce.
