In this ARK Invest Q2 holdings report, the focus isn’t just on “which popular companies were bought again.” The shift in capital is already very clear: new positions were established in commercial space and cutting-edge computing, while the AI platform allocation was continued. On the other hand, some chip, China-concept, and high-volatility growth assets were reduced.

As of June 30 under the 13F reporting standard, ARK can disclose securities holdings with an estimated market value of about $15.40 billion, an increase of approximately 19.8% compared to the previous quarter calculated based on disclosed market value. Holdings rose from 182 positions to 191 positions. The top five holdings are Tesla, AMD, SpaceX, Tempus AI, and Robinhood, together accounting for about 25.0% of the portfolio.

The largest new position is $SPCX

In this quarter, ARK newly built about 4.478 million shares of SpaceX, with the holding market value at about $765 million, making it the third-largest position in the portfolio directly, at roughly a 5.0% weight. This isn’t a small trial trade; it brings commercial space, satellite internet, and future infrastructure into the core portfolio.

On the same front, ARK also newly established a position in Cerebras. Looking at the two new entries together, ARK’s focus is no longer just AI applications; it is extending further into computing-power hardware and longer-cycle technology infrastructure.

Platform-type AI assets receive more allocation

ARK increased its stake in $GOOGL by 44.82%, increased its stake in Amazon by 17.41%, increased its stake in Meta by 55.18%, and also increased its stake in Nvidia by 33.40%.

The common thread behind these moves is that the companies all have strong capabilities in platforms, cloud, models, distribution, or computing power. ARK in this quarter isn’t merely chasing small-cap AI concepts; it is increasing its stakes in large technology companies with real resources and commercialization capabilities.

Clear reductions appear in chip-related and China-concept sectors

ARK reduced its stake in $AMDB by 47.79% and reduced its stake in Teradata by 48.22%. However, after reducing its position, AMD still remains the second-largest holding. Therefore, this is better understood as a rebalancing of positions within the chip supply-chain rather than exiting AI hardware.

The adjustments in China-concept sectors are even more pronounced. Baidu’s share count fell by 73.05% and Alibaba fell by 84.73%. These reduction magnitudes are clearly higher than Tesla’s -2.53% and Robinhood’s -12.78%, indicating that ARK is selectively lowering risk exposure in certain non-core directions.

Healthcare AI and defense technology remain the supporting main themes

Tempus AI continues to be the fourth-largest holding; the number of shares increased by 4.32% this quarter, and Eli Lilly increased its stake by 509.45%. The healthcare line keeps both the AI narrative and mature commercialization assets.

Kratos Defense was increased by 33.84%, tied to the unmanned systems and defense technology direction. ARK’s allocation is not centered on just one technical theme; beyond the AI main line, it also retains high-growth branches such as healthcare, defense, and commercial space.

13F can only reflect part of publicly disclosed long positions as of June 30, and the disclosure date is already August 14, so it cannot be treated as real-time trading signals. What is more worth continuing to monitor for these holdings is whether ARK will keep increasing the weights of SpaceX, Cerebras, and AI platforms, and whether the sell-down of AMD and China-concept assets will continue.

In one sentence: ARK’s core in Q2 isn’t simply “adding more AI,” but rather by trimming some chip and China-concept positions—making the portfolio more concentrated in AI platforms, frontier computing power, commercial space, and healthcare AI.
