When one of the world’s most well-known macro investors advises holding Bitcoin, it no longer looks like a marginal story.
Ray Dalio, the founder of Bridgewater Associates, said that investors should keep «a bit of Bitcoin» and allocate 10–15% of their portfolio to gold amid rising US government debt. In his view, a debt crisis in the country could erupt in about three years. Dalio believes that weakening demand for US Treasuries may force authorities either to raise yields or to stimulate a buyback of the debt through money creation (ForkLog).
Why this matters: it seems that Bitcoin is being discussed more and more not as a speculative asset, but as a hedge against systemic risks.
