ZEC just surged to $830, setting a 8-year high!

The reason is simple: Grayscale has officially applied to turn ZEC into a U.S. spot ETF, ticker ZCSH, with the goal of listing it on the NYSE. If approved, this would be the world’s first spot privacy-coin ETF—pretty much the same feeling as when the Bitcoin ETF got approved back then.

Let’s add some background: ZEC is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency. Over the past few years, it was delisted more than 70 times due to compliance pressure from major exchanges, and for a while it became sidelined by the market. But now, as the U.S. regulatory stance has softened, institutions are starting to re-evaluate this kind of asset.

Today, within the last 24 hours, ZEC has touched as high as $888, with trading volume skyrocketing. Both retail investors and institutions are rushing in.

However, keep in mind: the ETF application is only the beginning—whether it will be approved is still unknown, and regulatory risks for privacy coins remain. If you’re chasing it short-term, watch out for potential pullback pressure.
