Afraid of liquidation when trading contracts as a beginner?

Small-capital strategy under 1000U

Recently, a lot of new traders asked me: I’m just starting with contracts, and my capital is within 1000U—how should I operate so I don’t lose?

I’ve guided many complete beginners. The practical tips I summarized are especially easy to follow—if you do them, you can avoid a lot of pitfalls.

If you have 1000U, don’t put it all in at once!

I have them split it into 10 parts first. Invest only 100U each time, and use 20x leverage. For beginners, if you use too high a leverage like 50x, when the market moves 2%, you’ll panic and end up making messier moves—then you lose faster instead.

Keep the remaining 900U in a stable finance plan and don’t touch it. If you lose the 100U, absolutely don’t add more funds. I made this mistake before: I kept adding money after losses, and the situation got worse and worse. Later I realized this: stop first, ask yourself “why am I losing,” take a break for 1–2 days, and then move again.

Bitcoin fluctuates every day, and there are opportunities every month. Protecting your principal comes first.

After you adjust, split the remaining 900U into 10 more parts (90U each) and start over. This time be even more cautious and aim to earn it back. If you make 300U, quickly transfer out 200U, and only leave 100U to continue—having money already realized in hand keeps your mindset stable.

I’ve seen people make 500U but can’t bear to transfer it out. They end up clearing everything with one bad move, and then it all goes to zero again. That’s just too unfortunate.

Honestly, with 10x leverage, if you’re wrong on direction and the price drops 10%, liquidation is almost guaranteed. BTC’s yearly volatility of 20% is extremely common. No matter how much you earned before—if you go all-in, sooner or later you’ll end up at zero.

The experienced traders I know are already amazing with only a 60% win rate, so position management matters more than anything. Even with a 90% win rate, one mistake can still be catastrophic.

Also remember some discipline:
If your daily loss exceeds 2% of your total funds, be alert. If you reach 6% loss, close the losing contract(s). For winning trades, set a take-profit to lock in breakeven, then rest for 2–3 days;

Don’t chase pumps. When adding to winning positions, either add immediately or wait for a big pullback and use the “pyramiding add-on strategy.”
If the profit on margin exceeds 200%, set half with a 40% drawdown stop/take-profit and set the other half to protect breakeven—don’t let big profits turn into losses.

I only do spot trading, no fake stuff. If you want to avoid pitfalls and make steady profits, don’t be alone in the crypto market fumbling in the dark. Keep up with the pace—@bit多多 我一直都在 will take you to earn stable money with a win-guaranteed logic! 🔥
