Last night, I saw a few seniors from the Little Milk Dog community who had walked together for a stretch of the road, and they began choosing to build other projects.
At that moment, I was truly filled with mixed feelings.
Because we all know that behind every person who chooses to leave, there are their own thoughts and considerations.
Some people are tired, some want to look for new opportunities, and some just want to take a different path.
We don’t need to blame anyone.
Staying is a kind of choice; leaving is also a kind of choice.
But I’d rather say this to every family member who is still staying in the Little Milk Dog community right now:
Whether you’ve been here all along or you only joined recently, please don’t start doubting your worth just because the people around you are starting to leave.
What’s most precious about a community has never been “how many people.”
It’s after the crowd slowly disperses that we can still ask how many people are willing to keep working together.
Those who stay here don’t need to separate who’s an old-timer or a newcomer, because we’re all one family working hard together.
We don’t need to compare with anyone, and we don’t need to prove who’s right for staying.
Real building was never something that can be completed in a single day.
It could be an article, a photo, a share, an idea, a livestream—or it could simply be saying to the community family one more sentence every day:
“Don’t give up—we’re still here.”
Many times, the hardest part for a community isn’t that nobody joins—it’s when the people who used to work together start losing confidence.
So every person who stays now is more important than you think!
We don’t know where the future will lead us.
But at least today, we can choose to do what needs to be done well.
No infighting, no complaints, no blind obedience.
Less emotion, more action.
Less waiting, more building.
Because what’s truly worth being proud of isn’t how many people we once had, but—years later, when we look back—we can say to ourselves:
“In those hardest days, I chose not to give up.”
